With its iconic green dome, Spilka is a national landmark in Bratislava’s Old Town, now transformed into an exceptional 3,300 sq m of office and retail premises. The former fermentation hall is the only preserved building from the famed Stein Brewery.
Modernising such an industrial monument, while preserving its historical character, demanded collaboration right across our specialist team. The challenges included adapting the spaces and interweaving modern technological infrastructure throughout. We worked closely with Bouda Masár architects, who are vastly experienced in refurbishment projects and share a mutual respect for cultural heritage.
Unconventionally magnificent: The preserved architecture and complementary modern additions showcase industrial walls, high ceilings and soaring floor heights of up to 12 meters.
